Honour to the leader
Oscar Mpetha High school was named after an activist and unionist. He was Oscar Mpetha. He was a worker and fought for workers rights. He was detained for many times and was released at R1 bail. Our school was named after him, it was to honour him. This school before it was Sizamile High School. Oscar Mpetha high school was built in 1975 the first principal of thee was Mr Tukulu. The slogan stand for AD Astra per aspera it mean to the star through rough ways. Our school was named by Nyanga community school staff and students in 1990. Oscar Mpetha is the one who introduced ANC in the Cape. After Mr Tukulu steppedas the principal of the school Mr D. Mawisa took over until now. Teacher of Oscar Mpetha encourage students to study hard, reach for their dreams and also fight for what they want. Because you have to work hard to be succceful.
Why does SA have a Human Rights day
First of all what is Human rights? Human rights are the rights and freedom that everyone has for birth simply because they are human beings, in South Africa human rights are listed in a bill of right in the constitution. For example equality all people are equal and must be treated equally. If the government or any other institution or individualdiscriminates against someone because of race, colour, belief.
